Music Theater Heritage

Kansas City, MO, United States

Music Theater Heritage (MTH), established in 1997 by George Harter, began as a platform to syndicate Harter's radio show, "A Night on the Town." Initially producing live shows on a loading dock at the historic Belger Arts Center in downtown Kansas City in 2003, MTH's operations expanded significantly in 2007 when Crown Center invited the organization to produce shows in its newly constructed 240-seat theater. Today, MTH is a fully professional performing arts center located in Crown Center, Kansas City, attracting nearly 50,000 visitors annually. The center boasts three theatrical stages, production facilities, studio spaces, and public lobbies, focusing on music, theater, and the heritage of both. MTH's mission centers on the appreciation and historical understanding of American musical theater and its cultural contributions. It aims to entertain and educate through a commitment to diversity and inclusion, targeting both current audiences and future artists.
