West Virginia University School of Music

The West Virginia University School of Music, part of the College of Creative Arts, aims to create an innovative and inclusive musical community. It prepares students for careers as performers, educators, composers, conductors, music therapists, entrepreneurs, and scholars. The School emphasizes research and creative activity in music performance, composition, education, theory, musicology, therapy, technology, and industry. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the music education program is also accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation and the West Virginia Department of Education, while the music therapy program is accredited by the American Music Therapy Association. The School fosters an environment of trust, respect, and accountability, providing rigorous programs and distinguished faculty to develop students into leaders in the musical arts.
