### MasterWorks VII: A Voyage on the High Seas

**Event Description:**  
Join the Canton Symphony Orchestra for an unforgettable evening as we embark on "A Voyage on the High Seas," the grand finale of our MasterWorks series. Conducted by CSO Music Director Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz, this concert features Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Symphony No. 1, "A Sea Symphony," with text from Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass." This monumental piece captures the essence of the ocean with its whistling winds and racing waves, while also exploring the sea as a metaphor for the soul's journey through time and space.

The Canton Symphony Chorus, founded in 1983 and composed of volunteer singers from Northeast Ohio, will be joined by Grammy award-winning bass-baritone Dashon Burton and soprano Bonnie Frauenthal. This performance marks the first time "A Sea Symphony" will be performed in Canton.

The evening will open with "A Sea Poem" by Irish composer Ina Boyle, a student of Vaughan Williams. Music Director Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz is thrilled to close the season with his favorite piece of music ever composed and invites you to join this epic voyage.

A pre-concert lecture will be held at 6:30 PM in Foundation Hall.

Join us for a yuletide celebration of holiday magic as the Canton Symphony Orchestra presents its much-anticipated Holiday Pops concert for 2024. Conducted by CSO Music Director, Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz, this heartwarming performance will feature beloved holiday classics, cherished carols, and festive orchestral arrangements. The concert promises to ignite the spirit of the holidays, leaving you filled with warmth and wonder. 

**Special Feature:**  
The Canton Symphony Chorus, led by Doug Beery, will be performing alongside the orchestra. This ensemble, composed of members from the Canton community, adds a special touch to the concert, creating a memorable and joyous experience.
