Alton Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1945, the Alton Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is a prominent cultural institution in southwestern Illinois, dedicated to the performance of live symphonic music. For over seven decades, ASO has enriched the Riverbend area by providing high-quality orchestral music to residents and artists, fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts within the community. The orchestra aims to deliver quality musical programs to diverse audiences and offer local musicians opportunities to perform. ASO's mission includes enhancing the appreciation of fine music among a broader audience, cultivating a love for orchestral music in children, and increasing the participation of young musicians in the orchestra.
