Royal Choral Society

The Royal Choral Society is one of the most revered and long-established choirs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1871 under the auspices of the Royal Albert Hall's Resident Concerts, the choir has enjoyed a long-standing reputation for excellence in choral music. It was established by Charles Gounod, a prominent composer of the time, and has since continued to maintain a high standard of performance, often featuring large-scale choral and orchestral works. The Royal Choral Society is particularly noted for its performances of major choral works by composers such as Handel, Verdi, and Beethoven, frequently holding concerts at iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall. With a history spanning over 150 years, the Royal Choral Society remains an integral part of the British classical music scene, participating in significant national events and celebrations.
