She has performed with revered orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Berliner Philharmoniker and has appeared in the world’s most famous venues as a soloist, Lieder partner and chamber musician. She is also invested in nurturing future talent and founded the Imogen Cooper Music Trust in 2015 to mentor young pianists.

Irish Chamber Orchestra - A Choral Christmas

Experience the profound and emotionally charged masterpiece of Mozart's Requiem, performed by the Irish Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Choir Ireland under the baton of the esteemed conductor Thomas Zehetmair. This concert features a stellar lineup of soloists, including soprano Ailish Tynan, mezzo-soprano Carolyn Holt, tenor Robin Tritschler, and bass Padraic Rowan. The program opens with David Fennessy's evocative piece "Blood," setting the stage for the evening's main highlight.

Mozart's Requiem, K.626, remains one of the most enigmatic and powerful works in the classical repertoire. Composed during the final days of Mozart's life, this unfinished requiem is imbued with a sense of urgency and poignancy, reflecting the composer's own confrontation with mortality. The music navigates through a spectrum of emotions, from the dramatic and foreboding to moments of hope and redemption. Each movement of the Requiem is a testament to Mozart's genius, capturing the essence of human experience and the mystery of death.

The performance promises to be a deeply moving experience, as the orchestra and choir bring to life the intricate harmonies and profound expressions of this timeless work. Mozart Requiem

Experience an evening of exquisite musical artistry as baritone Christian Gerhaher and pianist Gerold Huber grace the stage at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Renowned for their profound interpretations of Lieder, this celebrated duo dedicates their program to the works of Robert Schumann. The performance will feature the Eichendorff Liederkreis, 5 Songs Op. 40, and volume three of the Romanzen und Balladen from 1840, alongside the 3 Songs Op. 83 and 6 Poems of Lenau from 1850. 

Gramophone has praised their Schumann recordings as "an album to treasure and to savour," while the Financial Times lauds Gerhaher's eloquence in singing his native German poetry. With a partnership spanning 30 years, Gerhaher and Huber have become fixtures on the stages of major international recital centers, particularly as frequent guests at Wigmore Hall. Their dedication to Lied interpretation is evident in both their concerts and recordings, making this recital a significant cultural event. 

The program will include Schumann's Märzveilchen, Muttertraum, Der Soldat, Der Spielmann, Verratene Liebe, Liederkreis Op. 39, Resignation, Die Blume der Ergebung, Der Einsiedler, Blondels Lied, Loreley, Der arme Peter, and 6 Gedichte von N Lenau und Requiem Op. 90. This collaboration between RIAM and Wigmore Hall offers a unique opportunity to witness the mastery of one of today's finest Lieder duos.

Experience the profound artistry of Sir András Schiff as he inaugurates the 2024/2025 Wigmore Series Dublin at the Royal Irish Academy of Music's Whyte Recital Hall. Renowned globally as a pianist, conductor, pedagogue, and lecturer, Sir András Schiff is celebrated for his deeply intellectual and masterful interpretations of classical masterpieces. His performances are often accompanied by insightful spoken introductions, offering audiences a deeper understanding of the works he plays. 

In this exceptional series, Sir András Schiff will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's monumental composition, "The Art of Fugue, BWV 1080." This piece, known for its intricate counterpoint and profound musical architecture, is a testament to Bach's genius and remains one of the most revered works in the classical repertoire. Sir András Schiff's authoritative and considered approach promises to bring new dimensions to this timeless masterpiece, making it a memorable experience for all attendees.

Experience an evening of exceptional chamber music as the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra makes its European debut at the Whyte Recital Hall. This benefit concert, in support of the Irish Heart Foundation, features a compelling program of works for clarinet and string quartet. The performance includes the European premiere of a piece by Christopher Cerrone, the world premiere of a composition by Emma O’Halloran, and a classic work by Johannes Brahms. 

The ensemble, based in Los Angeles and recognized globally for its innovative approach, brings together a talented group of musicians: Benjamin Mitchell on clarinet, Luke Hsu and Ann Miller on violins, Neasa Ni Bhriain on viola, and Rainer Crosett on cello. Their collaboration promises a rich and dynamic musical experience, highlighted by the new work from Emma O’Halloran, generously supported by the Arts Council of Ireland. 

Critics have praised Kaleidoscope for their exceptional performances, with accolades from Classical KUSC Radio and the LA Times, describing their concerts as among the best and a tour de force. The Irish Youth Choir, under Artistic Director Bernie Sherlock, is made up of Ireland's finest young singers between the ages of 18-28. It has been an important part of Irish musical life since 1982. Singers are recruited by audition, and meet during the summer course and workshop weekends throughout the year. It offers an electic advanced repertoire, inspiring and empowering young Irish singers with careful vocal and stylistic preparation in a good atmosphere, while instilling a life-long love of music. Alumni of the Irish Youth Choir have proceeded to become some of Ireland’s best conductors, choir founders, singers, teachers, and musicians.
