A rewrite of the novel  Un homme et son péché  by Claude-Henri Grignon, the play takes a new look at the original work by attempting to unfold the mechanisms of violence present between Donalda and Séraphin. Having become a ghost, Donalda retraces the traces of her relationship with Séraphin, while the latter busies himself enjoying his possessions, which gradually lead him to his downfall. As Donalda gradually seizes the power she never had during her lifetime, she pushes us to question the limits of forgiveness and the place of power in love.

Sometimes speaking directly to the audience, they rub shoulders in a fearless and playful back-and-forth and question the power relations between adults and children, raising family, political, and even… global issues along the way! With kindness and humor,  Jardins d'enfances  highlights the sensitivity of young people, their need to be listened to, loved, and their great desire for independence.

Through an assembly of singular tableaux, Pommerat presents characters who are sometimes in love, sometimes betrayed. Passing bodies that undergo the indelible marks of love, which provoke altered states and blur the fine line between dream and reality. In a corridor of possibilities, situations follow one another and make this space a non-place. It is thanks to this mesh that the author allows doubt to hover over the characters' deep motivations or even over the emotions that truly inhabit them.

With Polo's DIY skills, she invents a machine that will advise people in need; a kind of electronic psychologist. Then comes a string of colorful characters who are looking for a little comfort. Under the supervision of Sophie Côté, the graduating students in drama teaching adapt this sensitive, comical and heartbreaking work that makes us think about human solitude.

Carried by the words of Constance Debré and Tim Etchells, seven beings in search of meaning gather and wander in a place of waiting. They are inhabited by the desire to destroy everything, to reject the foundations of our world, but to do what next? How to inhabit the tremors of our time? And how to be as true as possible with oneself and with others? A moving tableau in seven voices, I'm Thirsty presents itself as a prayer to vulnerability, a search for authenticity and a revolt against pretense.

A shattered mix of banality and extravagance, La Comédie de Saint-Étienne exposes the daily life of an unusual office, a workplace where unspoken things reign as much as a strange smell of decadence. On the menu: nebulous love stories, beginnings of situations without resolution, enigmatic characters, a teeming language, but above all, the clash of social classes and snow in Saint-Étienne… Lots of snow… Daily life laid bare under unflattering neon lights.

Toucher du bois is an audio-guided stroll by Maxime Pouliot in the heart of this damaged territory. Each performance consists of a walk in the public space to encounter the places and the family history of the artist. Using a listening device, the researcher lifts the buried layers of memory and fabricates potential stories. At the crossroads of the memorial novel, dialogue with the deceased, archival collage and collective reverie, Toucher du bois offers a sensitive experience of places that stages various ways of apprehending the living.

First presented in 1998, Sarah Kane's play Crave is a work with a strong poetic charge and great violence. With its many openings of meaning and its almost complete absence of stage directions, it constitutes a considerable creative challenge that the graduates of the École supérieure de théâtre de l'UQAM wanted to take up as part of the free production.

This session, as part of the “Public Workshop” course, the Infaillibles (the 2nd year student cohort in play) present Le cabaret Grand'peur! Misère! , a collective creation directed by Paul Keenan. This is the first public performance taking place within the bachelor's degree in play.

This play, with its cynical and scathing humor, was written in 1996 by the German-speaking Swiss Urs Widmer, based on testimonies from people who had been laid off. It explores the alienation of the individual in the workplace, the cult of success and performance in neoliberal society. Michel-Maxime Legault staged it for the first time in 2008, with the Théâtre de la Marée Haute, in the midst of the economic crisis. In light of the looming recession, the director wanted to update the text and anchor it in the reality of the job market here and now, also seeking to make the audience an intimate witness to the actions of these characters overwhelmed by the situation.

Her unscrupulous colleagues take advantage of this to make her do whatever they want, constantly abusing her candor... until an unexpected event disrupts the dynamics within the company. Taking the form and rhythm of a soap opera in which kindness and cruelty evolve hand in hand, My Cold Room paints a portrait of sometimes benevolence, sometimes sadism.
