The University of Oregon Symphony Orchestra (UOSO) program is one of the most robust university orchestral programs on the West Coast, comprising three distinct ensembles. The University Symphony, the flagship orchestra, features the finest string, wind, brass, and percussion players from the university, performing a diverse repertoire that spans various musical styles and time periods. The UOSO is dedicated to providing a rich musical experience for both students and audiences, including collaborations with living composers, guest conductors, and soloists. The Oregon Camerata, a highly selective chamber orchestra, consists of performance majors and operates on a professional model with limited rehearsals. The Campus Orchestra offers a low-stress environment for students from all academic disciplines to continue playing their instruments. The University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, the state's premier music program, supports these ensembles and offers Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Music, serving approximately 650 music majors and minors with a faculty of 80.
