Trafalgar Theatre

London, United Kingdom

Trafalgar Theatre, a Grade II listed building, underwent a major multi-million-pound restoration to return to its original 1930s Art Deco design. Initially opened as the Whitehall Theatre on September 29, 1930, it was known for modern comedies and later for burlesque shows during WWII. Post-war, it became synonymous with farce under Brian Rix's management. The theatre transitioned to Trafalgar Studios in 2004, featuring two studio spaces. In 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, it was restored to a single 630-seat auditorium, reinstating original design elements. Reopened in July 2021, it now hosts the acclaimed musical "Jersey Boys."
