Corn Exchange Newbury

Newbury, United Kingdom

Corn Exchange Newbury, managed by The Corn Exchange Trust, is a prominent arts centre located in Newbury, Berkshire. The Trust oversees four key spaces: the Corn Exchange, featuring a 400-seat auditorium, a 40-seat independent cinema, and a café-bar; 101 Outdoor Arts, a national centre for large-scale outdoor performances; a centrally located Learning Centre for workshops and courses; and The Base Greenham, a visual arts gallery and workshop space. Since 2009, the organization has expanded its performance program to include theatre, dance, comedy, music, film, and outdoor events, attracting audiences from across the South East. The Trust also produces its own pantomime and supports artists through commissioning, development opportunities, and mentoring. In 2014, 101 Outdoor Arts was launched to enhance outdoor arts production, further bolstered by Arts Council England funding in 2017. The Learning Centre focuses on engaging all age groups, particularly schools and older adults, through diverse arts programs. The Base Greenham, opened in 2019, hosts exhibitions and provides studio space for resident artists. The Trust aims to deliver high-quality performances, foster community involvement in the arts, and ensure long-term sustainability.
