The North Wall Arts Centre, located on the grounds of St Edward's School in Oxford, was established on the site of a Victorian swimming pool. After the pool became redundant, the school's governors, led by Warden David Christie, composer George Fenton, and Director of Cultural Activities Anthony Kerr-Dineen, decided to transform it into an arts centre. The London-based architects Haworth Tompkins were commissioned to design the centre, blending the Victorian structure with modern architecture. Opened in 2007, the centre features a theatre, drama and dance studios, and an art gallery. It has received multiple accolades, including national and regional awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects and recognition from the Civic Trust and Oxford Preservation Trust for its contribution to the local community and built environment.
