Duchess Theatre

London, United Kingdom

The Duchess Theatre, located in London, opened in 1929 with the play "Tunnel Trench," featuring Emlyn Williams. Designed with stalls below street level to respect neighboring light rights, the theatre has hosted notable productions such as "Oh Calcutta," "The Dirtiest Show in Town," Alan Bennett's "Untold Stories," "Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story," and the current comedy "The Play That Goes Wrong." In 2005, Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer acquired the theatre, incorporating it into the Nimax Theatres group.
