Celtic Connections

Celtic Connections is Glasgow's annual folk, roots, and world music festival, celebrating cultural connections globally. Established to enliven the winter season, the festival runs for 18 days, featuring over 2,100 musicians and more than 300 events, including concerts, ceilidhs, talks, art exhibitions, workshops, and free events. Creative Director Donald Shaw curates diverse musical genres and unique collaborative performances, with the Festival Club hosting legendary late-night sessions. The festival has contributed to major international events like the Ryder Cup and the London 2012 Olympics. In 2021, it transitioned online due to Covid-19, attracting over 100,000 viewers from 65 countries. The 2023 edition marked its 30th anniversary, with unrestricted in-person events drawing over 100,000 attendees across 25 venues.
