Cancelled and reviled in the media, Edward Prosser Rhys’s 1924 crown-winning poem, ATGOF, faced a storm of abuse for depictions of lust and a same-sex romance. Bwystfilod Aflan explores these events through a contemporary lens, with an operatic monologue by Conor Mitchell, creator of Abomination: A DUP Opera, performed by tenor Elgan Llŷr Thomas; and a personal reflection on the original poem by actor/dancer Eddie Ladd; both created in collaboration with and directed by Jac Ifan Moore.

Splinter, by Gemma Prangle, unearths the restlessness of grief and how nature manages to hold us in those moments where holding ourselves feels impossible.

The play stars Nia Gandhi (Enola Holmes 2, Casualty, Pijin/Pigeon) and Rhys Parry Jones (House of the Dragon, A Very English Scandal, Eastenders), and is co-directed by Nerida Bradley and Matthew Holmquist. This will be Red Oak Theatre’s first production as a Company In Residence at Sherman Theatre.

Collaborator was conceived specifically to be performed in the round and is re-written a bit for each particular venue. This will likely be the fifth staging and something like the eighth rewrite and it’s actually getting quite good.

2024 will be 100 years since the death of one of the most loved composers of Italian opera, Giacomo Puccini, and RWCMD will mark this by mounting Gianni Schicchi, his one act comic opera, which features ‘O mio babbino caro’, one of the most popular arias in all of opera.

Better known for his epic orchestral tone poems such as Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome, twentieth century Italian composer Ottorino Respighi’s music is full of surprises, and his operatic account of Charles Perrault’s timeless fairy tale Sleeping Beauty is no exception.

Having consulted with top Harley Street specialists, the St Anne’s Jombulance Brigade and Professor Twitty, that did covid, (the bald one), Count Arthur Strong has decided to gradually phase in his farewell tour over a yet to be specified number of parts, because of the likelihood of people doing ‘Cold Turkey’ in theatres over him. Whilst partial himself to the odd bit of cold turkey, it is banned in most theatre auditoriums, apart from in the north east, because of it getting trodden in to the carpets etc., and the cumulative smell. The management would appreciate your co-operation in this matter.

Expelled from school and not even able to get a job at the chippy, Jax (she/they/whatever) is a cocky, loveable teen living with her Nan in a tiny, boring village.

When Jax meets Ffion, with her smart talk and loud looks, sparks fly. Queer teenage lust brings together this unlikely match in all its messy, clumsy and awesome glory.

Ie Ie Ie is a Welsh adaptation of Yes Yes Yes; an award-winning show from award-winning Aoteaora/New Zealand-based theatre makers Karin McCracken and Eleanor Bishop.
