LINDISFARNE emerged from Tyneside in the 1970s and quickly carved out a unique place for themselves as one of British rock’s most original bands. Their pioneering sound, combining acoustic instruments like mandolin and fiddle with their electric blues roots, proved the perfect medium to deliver the catchy, memorable songs provided by the band’s resident writers Alan Hull and Rod Clements. Their first hit, the Clements-penned Meet Me On The Corner, paved the way for their classic Fog On The Tyne to become the UK’s top-selling album of 1972.

I have often been compared to Gordon Giltrap and other influences would include Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor.

Yorkshire born Kiki's prowess was spotted at an early age when she won a local talent show when only 10 years old. At 16 her blue eyed soulful voice had won her a deal with Fontana Records and she has since released 40 singles, 15 albums 3 EPs and won the distinction of being the first ever female vocalist from the UK to be signed by Tamla Motown.

In 1973 her stunning ‘Amoureuse’ became her first top 20 singles entry followed by ‘I've Got the Music in Me’ (top 20 UK & USA) and in 1975, the unforgettable ‘Don't Go Breaking My Heart’ with Elton John which topped the charts both sides of the Atlantic. Hits followed with ‘Star’ and further success with Elton, ‘True Love’ reaching No. 2 in the 90s.

“In 1974 my father invested £750 (£8,100 in today’s money) in a Royal Worcester porcelain figure of The Duke of Wellington on horseback -made to celebrate his victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. He kept the figure we affectionately called The Duke, wrapped in sponge, in a big box, under his bed. After he died in 2001, my mother decided to take the figure out and display it on the table in the bay window. Since 2005 I've been working on a film script, which is in the very final stages of development. In the autumn of 2015 I sit at my desk waiting for an email that will tell me whatIneed to do to the script to get it onto the screen. I turn the radio on. I listen to a report about the refugee crisis. My mother calls. She tells me she’s broken The Duke. My mother, my film script and the refugee crisis all need my attention.”
