This hilarious show takes all the elements of the cult classic films The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness and combines them into one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time. Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee turned demon-killing hero) and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons tell bad jokes ... and all to music. The songs in the show are completely off the wall. Titles like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons" and "What the F**k Was That?" will have audiences rolling in their seats and screaming for more and more blood.

Eric Johnson is a soul survivor. He has led a 40-year career that has afforded him the opportunity to travel the world performing with some of the world's greatest jazz artists. Johnson’s career began in Pittsburgh's late 60s Rhythm and Blues/Jazz Funk circuit. After graduating high school, a bold, eager Eric Johnson went on the road with legendary organist Brother Jack McDuff. Johnson soon became a popular sideman working with Leon Spencer Jr., Lou Donaldson, Jimmy McGriff, Stanley Turrentine, Hank Crawford, Ramsey Lewis and many others.

Keep the excitement of the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival going with Chris Coles' Nine Lives Project featuring Sean Jones! 

Nine Lives is an immersive musical and choreographed performance involving different mediums — including jazz, dance and animation — and reflecting on issues of social justice, racial inequality and gun violence. It is based upon the 2015 shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, in which a white supremacist killed nine Black parishioners at Emanuel AME Church.

Dvorak traveled to America in the 1890s, and this wild new country thrilled him. He admired the beauty of African American spirituals and was fascinated by Native American traditions. When describing his “New World” symphony, he said, “I tried to write only in the spirit of those national American melodies,” but his Ninth is clearly an expression of both the Old World and the new. Debussy developed his love of the sea beginning with childhood visits to the Mediterranean, and this imaginative, impressionistic sketch captures all the moods of the sea, from tranquil to ominous and stormy. Sibelius’ music evokes the myths and movement of deep waters while the PSO premiere of Sigfúsdóttir’s Oceans whirls with atmospheric flow. In another debut, soloist Vadim Gluzman plays Prokofiev with “one of the most beautiful [sounds] in the world” (Diapason—Paris).

Emphasizing a collaborative creative process, Malpaso is committed to working with top international choreographers while also nurturing new voices in Cuban choreography. Always a favorite of Pittsburgh audiences, Emmanuel Ax returns to perform Mozart’s sublime, elegant, and altogether extraordinary piano concerto.  Music Director Manfred Honeck leads the PSO premiere of Korngold's only symphony, penned in his best melodic Hollywood style as a swashbuckling musical tribute to the life and achievements of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. A world premiere by Pittsburgh native Hannah Ishizaki completes the program.

The High Kings formed in June 2007 when Brian, Darren, Finbarr and former member Martin Furey were asked to join a brand new Irish ballad group by David Kavanagh after he had noticed a gap in the market for a band specialising in traditional Irish music.
