The Open Mic was set up to allow anyone of any talent or skill, at any level to come and have a go. We are a local community based, friendly, non-judgmental event and love to welcome new faces. The Open Mic at the Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre Lounge, is on every other month from 7pm to 11pm. We welcome you to the little Cornish village of Rederring and to RUDDIGORE, a spooky blood and thunder Victorian melodrama telling the tale of a young man trapped by the curse of his ancestors. We meet a professional band of frustrated bridesmaids, a chorus of ghosts, curses and disguises, a good old-fashioned villain and of course our beautiful heroine!

We promise you love songs, nautical music, belly aching laughter, ghostly goings on, words sung so fast you won’t think it humanly possible, delightfully funny dialogue and possibly the best madrigal in the G&S canon!

This is a charity event raising funds for the Stamford Royal British Legion, a charity that provides recovery and rehabilitation support to current serving and ex-service personnel who are wounded, injured or sick. The same support is also available for those who are experiencing multiple challenges such as being out of work, dealing with mental health problems, financial issues and alcohol abuse.
The Waterloo Band & Bugles of The Rifles is an Army Reserve band based at Edward Brooks Barracks in Abingdon near Oxford. Under the baton of their Director of Music, the Band & Bugles take part in a wide variety of events throughout the year ranging from Concerts to Marching displays and Sounding Retreat Ceremonies.

Come along to sing, play or listen to an evening of jazz. Led by our professional house band Jay Stebb Jazz quartet, you can bring your instrument or vocals to join in or chill with a drink in the cosy setting of The Theatre Lounge. It’s on every last Sunday of the month, free entry and a great place to watch some talented musicians!

Between 1989 and 2006, The Beautiful South clocked-up no less than 20 UK Top-30 hits with most making it into the UK Top-10, including the No.1 hit A Little Time and other classic songs such as: Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes, Good As Gold, and Don’t Marry Her; not to mention their Greatest Hits album, Carry On Up The Charts, which sold just under 2-million copies – making it the second highest selling album of 1994 and which went on to stay in the UK Album Top-30 for the whole of 1995 – achieving no less than six Platinum Disks!
