1. Mercy seat - winter journey
The actor Charly Hübner and the Ensemble Resonanz, complemented by a jazz trio consisting of Kalle Kalima, Carlos Bica and Max Andrzejewski, let the world of Schubert's "Winterreise" meet the songs of the Australian poet and singer Nick Cave. The spirits of this séance speak of unhappy love. Of pain. Of guilt. Of failure. Of loneliness. Of great failure and of death. No place, nowhere. Or: All beauty must die...

8. School Concert »Wolf«
A wolf roams forlornly through sombre wastelands and dreams of wild forests and better worlds. He wants to change something and cries: raises his paws and his voice! Scarily beautiful 360-degree projections transform the emptied Recital Hall of the Elbphilharmonie into a wilderness; the musicians of Ensemble Resonanz contribute atmospheric modern sounds by the composer and electric zither player Leopold Hurt.

9. Helmut Lachenmann: The String Quartets
Helmut Lachenmann has written three works for string quartet – the pinnacle of chamber music, or as he himself calls it: a "good, old, venerable, and tradition-laden ensemble." Who could be better suited to break the traditional tonal and structural boundaries of this genre than the Swabian native – the relentless rebel among contemporary composers? To mark his 90th birthday, two friendly ensembles, Quatuor Diotima and Ensemble Resonanz, will perform all three string quartets, demonstrating in one evening the diverse paths Lachenmann has taken.
