For 45 years, Ton Koopman and his Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra have been closely linked to Bach. During their long career, conductor and orchestra have won numerous important prizes; recordings have been awarded the Gramophone Award, the Diapason d'Or, the BBC Award and several Edisons. The tireless Ton Koopman turns eighty this season and his Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra has also been around for forty-five years. In those years they have grown into true authorities and all those years one composer has been central: Johann Sebastian Bach . On the occasion of his eightieth birthday, Ton Koopman lets his orchestra shine with beloved repertoire by Bach: all six Brandenburg Concertos .
