Orpheus and Eurydice agree: their marriage is over. While he is only interested in his music, she seeks adventure – and promptly ends up in the arms of Pluto, the god of the underworld. He seizes the opportunity and whisks her away to the realm of the dead.

The celebrated star singer Sylva Varescu and the construction magnate's son Edwin are a couple who shouldn't be together. Their class prejudices, societal expectations, and fear of scandal are too great. But amidst grand staircases, waltzes, and champagne-fueled revelry, a dance on the edge of a volcano begins: full of joie de vivre, contradictions, and melancholy.

One must imagine Gioacchino Rossini as a hard-working man. In 1810, at just 18 years old, he wrote his first opera. By the age of 20, he was considered Italy's most sought-after opera composer; by his 22nd birthday, he had written 13 operas and was known far beyond Italy's borders. "The Barber of Seville" remains his undisputed masterpiece and rightly belongs to the core operatic repertoire.

The story of a hungry mouse who sneaks into a chef's kitchen invites children aged 3 and up to participate and sing along. Also featured are an elf who speaks with violin notes and a keen assistant who makes all the kitchen objects ring. Only together with them and the children does the mouse finally manage to soften the chef's heart.
