Lotta is the youngest of the Nyman children—and the most headstrong. The Nyman family lives in a pretty house on Potter Street, which has since been renamed Noise Street because Papa Nyman thinks his three children are definitely not potters, but magnificent noisemakers. Especially energetic Lotta, who thinks she can do anything, even ride a bike. But that goes terribly wrong, and not everything in her life goes according to plan either. Who wants to wear itchy sweaters and have to put up with ignorant siblings? So Lotta decides to move in with Aunt Berg, where she is appreciated and valued. But it's also rather lonely there in the evenings... It's a good thing the Nymans finally realize what they have in their Lotta!

The ensemble of the Young State Theatre Parchim has demonstrated its high musical quality for many years. After forays into the realms of German pop, rock, and popular music, the question arose: what could they surprise audiences with this season? Fittingly, given the city's 800th anniversary, they chose folk songs. These songs, many centuries old, describe everyday and unique events such as birth, nature, love, work, and farewell. In short, they encompass an entire human life.

What a cheek! Here comes the hare hopping along, and he has nothing better to do than to hurl insults about everyone again. Mauli the mole is outraged, because this time it's his new friend, the good-natured hedgehog, who's in the crosshairs: not only is he said to have a potbelly, but also legs that are far too short and crooked. Mauli loses his temper: when the hedgehog wants to, he's as fast as lightning! So how about a race between the hare and the hedgehog? If the long-eared creature wins, he gets Mauli's beloved turnip patch. If he loses, he has to be nice to everyone from now on. The bet's on! For the vain hare and Nickel, his rabbit companion, victory seems a mere formality – however, the two haven't reckoned with the resourcefulness of Igelinchen, the hedgehog's friend…

Reality check: Who are Schiller's robbers? Are there still marauding gangs among us today, living in forests and lying in wait to rob and even murder? No! We have our police, after all... Yes! But they've just moved their hiding places. Perhaps the club is their new nighttime hideout. By day, they chain themselves to trees and fences in all kinds of weather. They stick themselves to the streets while airing their grievances on social media.

The robbers

Alice Moody demands one hundred thousand pounds. Otherwise, she'll tell the police that Miriam murdered their own father. Miriam, however, has no money. As a final act of cruelty, her father left his entire estate not to her, but to her sister Annabel, who ran away from home as a teenager. No sooner does Annabel step through the garden gate than Alice intercepts her: instead of Miriam, she's the one who's going to pay. But Annabel has little desire to part with her newfound wealth so quickly.

What does it mean for a child when their mother or father suffers from a mental illness?

In sensitively told stories, David Stöhr and the ensemble convey to children and children of mentally ill parents that they are not alone in their situation – and that everything they feel and think is okay. They also show, however, where the limits of children's agency lie, and how beneficial it can be for both children and parents to seek help.
