Niels W. Gade's violin concerto is delightful and light – a lesson in uncomplicated melodiousness. Zsolt-Tihamér Visontay is both soloist and conductor in the concert, and he also conducts Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony and leads Mendelssohn's 10th Sinfonia from the concertmaster's chair.
