The MDR Music Summer opens its 34th concert series in the European Capital of Culture 2025 with a brilliant opening. In collaboration with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Chemnitz, soprano Fatma Said, and Omar Massa on the bandoneon, the MDR Symphony Orchestra presents a colorful program characterized by South American sounds, in which the bandoneon, whose origins lie in 19th-century Chemnitz, plays a prominent role. Marcus Merkel, one of Germany's most exciting young conductors of our time, assumes the overall musical direction.

This year, the WDR Symphony Orchestra is organizing the Federal President's benefit concert. The concert series, the proceeds of which support social and cultural organizations, has been held annually since 1988 - from 1988 to 2005 in Berlin and since 2006 in rotation in the federal states. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst have decided to use the proceeds from the 2025 concert to support the Elly Heuss-Knapp Foundation - German Mothers' Recovery Foundation. The foundation aims to strengthen the health of mothers, fathers and caring relatives through preventive and rehabilitation measures. All tickets for the Federal President's benefit concert include a donation to the Elly Heuss-Knapp Foundation.

For the eleventh consecutive year, Radio France, France Télévisions , the  City of Paris,  and  Électron Libre Productions  are pleased to offer listeners and viewers an exceptional moment,  Le Concert de Paris,  with  the Orchestre National de France, the Maîtrise  and the Chœur de Radio France. In this exceptional year of the Olympic Games, the Torch Relay will end on the Parvis de l'Hôtel de Ville with the lighting of the cauldron in front of the Hôtel de Ville, a few minutes before the start of the traditional  City of Paris Fireworks.
