Pianist

Bassist Trygve Fiske has spellbound us for many years with fiery playing and beautiful compositions, in bands such as Waldemar 4, Hanna Paulsberg Concept, John Pål Inderberg Trio and Solveig Slettahjell Quartet. For Moldejazz 2023, Fiske wrote the work Sanger til SeRa – compositions 1-7 for Trondheim Jazzorkester. The premiere received a standing ovation, a six out of six rating in the newspaper, and was hailed as one of the best premieres ever. Fiske draws inspiration from many quarters and gathers the threads into an elegant and distinctive variant. Here the balance between being historically aware and innovative is maintained. The music is based on rhythmic play, various grooves and tempo changes, mixed with pop chords and hip synths. Finally, it is wholeheartedly seasoned with swing and freebop. The combination of all this and an absolutely brilliant band that always delivers promises a brilliant evening!
