Pianist

Aline Paes is one of the most prominent new voices from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She carries a proud tradition with an authentic and captivating style, but also a fresh take on where it all is heading. She has been described as "A tsunami of talent," has released three albums, and has performed with a long line of big names at festivals as well as in more intimate venues. Her performances are marked by a feminine strength that moves freely within Brazilian music. This transforms every performance into an experience that is both heartfelt and expressive. Accompanying her is Carsten Kær on piano, who is known, among other things, for his in-depth knowledge of Brazilian music.

Aline Paes - Carsten Kær Duo

Center for Dansk Jazzhistorie

Carsten Kær SOLO is music from a very personal universe, full of beautiful, narrative, at times somewhat quirky compositions. Presents sample pieces from the new project "percussive piano," in which drumming patterns from ethnic music are woven into ostinatos, and the piano functions both as a drum ensemble and as a melodic weaver within an improvisational universe. Original compositions and improvisations as well as standards.
