Music Director

We kick off the 2023-2024 season with a  concert celebrating our 55th Season and welcoming our new General Director to Fargo Moorhead Opera!  This concert will include some of the most beloved opera arias and ensembles sung by a variety of local artists and will also feature a performance by Curt Olds, our newly appointed General Director!  It's going to be a terrific evening highlighting many of your favorite operatic and musical theater “hits” from Mozart to Bernstein and everything in-between!

Celebration Concert

Join us in the Kimberly-Clark Theater before Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass with Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra for a preshow talk and Q&A with Rodney Marsalis and Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra music director Kevin Sütterlin. They will discuss the collaboration, insight into the music for the evening and answer patron questions.

This event is free for Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass with Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra ticket holders with community support from Community First Credit Union. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 6:40 p.m. Space is available on a first come first served basis.

We close the season with Roots and Heritage, conducted by Kevin Sütterlin, a program exploring the traditions and stories that shape our musical voices. From the folkloric energy of Motherboxx Connection by Simon to the lyrical warmth of Serenade by Still, this concert celebrates a rich tapestry of cultural expression. The orchestra also presents a world premiere by Ware, commissioned as a gift to the Lima Symphony. The evening culminates in Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast by Coleridge-Taylor, bringing this powerful season finale to a stirring close.
