Under the baton of David Alan Miller, with the talented Harmony Zhu on piano, this evening promises to be a celebration of musical mastery and emotional depth.

Join Anton Armstrong for a special performance of Randall Thompson’s Frostiana. The festival chorus will perform with the mcp.us/nycco">New York City Chamber Orchestra and soloists as part of MCP’s Masterwork Series. Singers will represent a variety of ensembles from across the country.

Featuring the full range of American choral music, we celebrate the music brought to our shores by Americans who arrived from all over the world. Our concert will celebrate that rich diversity with music by Americans from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Pieces range from the German-American composer Johann Friedrich Peter who worked in a Moravian Church around the time of the American Revolution, to the heritage of 19th and 20th century Jewish composers from Central Europe, to the evocative sounds of contemporary Korean-American composer Bora Yoon.

For our penultimate concert of the season, the Apollo Chorus takes you on a journey that moves from the beauties of the earth up to the glorious expanse of the heavens.
