The London Schools Symphony Orchestra brings together teenage musicians from across the capital who share a deep commitment to music-making at the highest level. This performance is the final concert of our season, representing the culmination of a full year of intensive music-making, collaboration, and artistic growth with professional conductors and tutors.

Resonant Pleading will feature music conceived amidst times of great personal, communal, or worldly hardship. The pieces featured on the program will be Anna Clyne’s emerging new work “Shorthand,” Faure’s vibrant Second Cello Sonata, and Samuel Barber’s powerful Cello Concerto.  The performance is on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 11am in Pickman Concert Hall at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge. I hope to see you there!

Immerse yourself in the enchanting "Sounds of the Sea" concert presented by the Holland Symphony Orchestra, set to take place on November 2, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. This captivating musical journey will unfold at the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts, Hope College, under the baton of esteemed Music Director and Conductor, Johannes Müller Stosch.

The evening's program promises to transport audiences with a selection of works inspired by the sea's myriad moods and stories. The concert will open with "Angels of Fire and Ice" by Ana Lara, followed by Francis Poulenc's "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra," a piece that weaves together playful allegrettos and serene andantes. Anne Clyne's "Restless Oceans" will then set the stage for Claude Debussy's masterpiece, "La Mer," a three-movement homage to the sea's beauty and power, from the calm of dawn to the tumult of the waves.

Tickets are priced at $28 for adults and $5 for students through college, making this event accessible to all who wish to experience the magic of classical music. In addition to the concert, attendees are invited to enhance their experience through the Classical Chats at Freedom Village and Pre-Concert Talks, where Johannes Müller-Stosch, alongside Amanda Dykhouse, will delve into the evening's music, offering insights and enriching the concert-going experience.

The event will take place at the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts at Hope College, located at 221 Columbia Ave., Holland, MI 49423. For those attending, parking will be reserved and monitored in Lot 40 for handicapped parking, with faculty parking lots available for general parking after 5 pm.
