The Delaware Symphony Orchestra’s Opening Night launches a thrilling new era with a program overflowing with energy and emotion. The celebration begins with Shostakovich’s Festive Overture — a whirlwind of brass and brilliance that practically bursts with excitement. Then, brace yourself for the sheer virtuosity of Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto, a piece so intense and powerful it’s become the ultimate test for pianists. Finally, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony brings the drama, with heart-pounding intensity, soaring melodies, and a finale that feels like a victory lap.
