Johann Strauss's effervescent operetta enters a realm of luck, luxury, and laughter as Cedar Rapids Opera’s mainstage January 2026 production. Die Fledermaus plunges the audience into a world of chance and intrigue, where fortunes—and secrets—are gambled away. Prince Orlofsky’s soirée becomes a grand night filled with masked players, shimmering gowns, and a live orchestra bringing the atmosphere to life.

The highest purpose of poetry is to teach us to love.
The greatest love story in opera, La Bohème remains eternally young. Set to a ravishing score, Puccini’s classic opera tells of the lives, loves, and losses of a group of young artists in a Bohemian quarter of Paris.

Whether you are new to opera or a long-time fan, don’t miss this moving work that audiences have adored for over a century, brought to life by a dynamic cast. La Bohème simply has no equal. Come fall in love all over again.

Beyond the Score®, again conducted by our wonderfully talented Kyle Knox and supported by three star actors from American Players Theatre plunges into the depths of this deeply romantic work. Emily Secor, who has the voice of an angel, and who delighted us on our streamed Christmas concert of 2020, returns to sing the angelic last movement.
