All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 tells the true story of the first Christmas Eve of World War I, when soldiers across the Western Front laid down their weapons to celebrate Christmas together. Based on the first hand accounts of soldiers who lived it, this beautifully staged play with music brings these stories to life with traditional carols and patriotic songs, sung a cappella by a cast of 12, celebrating the unique way that the holiday season can bring us all together.

New York City Opera’s 2023 Bryant Park series concludes with Roméo et Juliette. Gounod’s sumptuous opera brings the story of Shakespeare’s famous lovers to life through some of the most beautiful music in the French repertoire. Accompanied by members of the New York City Opera Orchestra, soprano Joanna Mongiardo and tenor Victor Starsky will star along with Maestro Joseph Rescigno at the helm.

Roméo et Juliette

The operas of Giuseppe Verdi have been an important part of the history of Sarasota Opera, the only company to have presented all of his works. Principal Artists from the Sarasota Opera with the Sarasota Orchestra, conducted by Victor DeRenzi, will present selections from these great works in concert.

Verdi Concert

A Protestant minister returns from a mission abroad to be confronted by his wife’s infidelity. Stiffelio faces his wife’s transgression, battling his all-too human emotions with his religious faith. Written just before Rigoletto, this long neglected, emotionally charged work is now recognized as an important opera by the great Giuseppe Verdi.
