**Description:**
Opera Orlando is thrilled to present the world premiere of "Four Lost Santas," a comic Christmas Opera that promises to be the highlight of the holiday season. This original piece, commissioned by Opera Orlando, features music by Spicer Carr and a libretto by Spicer Carr and Rose Freeman, based on an innovative concept by Gabriel Preisser. "Four Lost Santas" serves as a delightful prelude to Menotti’s beloved seasonal classic, "Amahl and the Night Visitors."

The story unfolds with a barbershop quartet of Santas who find themselves lost on their way to SantaCon. Their unexpected detour leads them to Judy and Rudy, a mother and son duo who are en route to their community theater’s production of "Amahl." When the Santas’ car breaks down, they all embark on a journey to the theater, only to discover that the production is on the brink of cancellation. The Santas step in to save the day, bringing their own unique charm to the roles in "Amahl" and setting the stage for a heartwarming tale of hope and miracles.

This enchanting double bill is a perfect blend of humor, holiday spirit, and the sacred message of Christmas. Performed in the intimate setting of the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater, audiences are invited to sing along with their favorite Christmas carols and embrace this new holiday tradition that is sure to warm hearts and inspire joy.

**Language:** The performances will be sung in English with English and Spanish supertitles.

**Duration:** Approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

These two charming Christmas works (one touches on the sacred side of the holiday, the other is secular and silly) will be staged with a live orchestra. Fun for audience members of all ages!

AHMAL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS follows a poor, disabled shepherd boy named Ahmal. One night he and his mother receive an unexpected visit from the three Wise Men on their way to Bethlehem to visit the newborn Jesus. Filled with charming exchanges that build to a powerful climax of grace, redemption and a miraculous healing.

This WEST COAST PREMIERE of THE FOUR LOST SANTAS features a quartet of Santas, lost and stranded by the side of the road with their broken-down car, missing their big break at SantaCon. A mother and son (Judy and Rudy), late to their performance of Ahmal and the Night Visitors, come across them and agree to help. Will the Santas make it to SantaCon?
