Join us for a unique and enriching experience at the 2024 Choral Workshop in Edinburgh, hosted by The Sixteen. This workshop offers keen amateur singers the rare opportunity to delve into a variety of choral music inspired by The Sixteen’s Choral Pilgrimage.

**Workshop Highlights:**
- **Guidance by Experts:** Under the expert direction of conductor Olivia Tait and Sixteen soprano Charlotte Mobbs.
- **Vocal Techniques:** Learn essential vocal and breathing techniques, invigorating warm-ups, and voice production.
- **Performance Interpretation:** Gain insights into performance interpretation and the historical context of the pieces.
- **Repertoire:** This year’s workshop focuses on the richly sensual choral music of Renaissance master Orlande de Lassus, including his motets, masses, and madrigals. Additionally, participants will explore new compositions inspired by Lassus and works by Maddalena Casulana, the first female composer to have a book of her works printed.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the "Seasons at the Cathedral" concert, presented by the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. This captivating event will be held at the historic Cathedral of St. Mary, located at 607 NE Madison Ave, Peoria, Illinois 61603. The performances are scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2024, at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm.

Under the baton of conductor George Stelluto and featuring the virtuosic talents of violinist Rong-Yan Tang, the evening promises an unforgettable auditory journey through the changing seasons. The program includes Maddalena Casulana's "Ben Venga Il Pastor" arranged by Stelluto, Stelluto's own "Fugal Musings on Ben Venga Il Pastor," Johann Sebastian Bach's "Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B Minor," Tomaso Albinoni's "Sonata St. Mark’s, Op. 6, No. 11," and culminates with Antonio Vivaldi's timeless masterpiece, "The Four Seasons."

Rong-Yan Tang, a celebrated musician known for her performances on the CSO’s Chamber Music series and educational concerts at Chicago Public Schools, brings her exceptional skills to the forefront as a soloist. Her previous appearances include recitals at the Art Institute of Chicago and broadcasts on WFMT-FM, as well as performances with regional orchestras.

This evening, the DR Vocal Ensemble takes you both out into nature and into the city through a small handful of exciting works where light, words and tones play together.

The Terra String Quartet continues its residency with an exquisite program including madrigals by the late Renaissance Italian composer Maddalena Casulana, the first female composer to have her music published. Terra also pairs two monumental string quartets that draw from Renaissance influences and are characterized by their innovative structures, emotional depth, and the exploration of new musical ideas within the traditional quartet form.
