The concert will showcase a vibrant selection of pieces, beginning with Emmanuelle Chabrier's Joyeuse marche, a piece known for its exuberance and ability to please crowds. Following this, the orchestra will perform Johannes Brahms' Rondo alla zingarese, a piece celebrated for its frenzied rhythms and dance-like qualities. A highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of Joanna Lee's beams.bellows.bounds, a work commissioned especially for this event. This piece will feature a collaboration between LSO musicians and 70 young musicians from East London, part of the LSO Discovery programmes, showcasing talent across a range of abilities. The concert will conclude with Igor Stravinsky's magical score for the ballet Petrushka, a work that promises to transport the audience with its storytelling and intricate orchestration.
