The ensemble Sarahbanda , founded as part of the popular Mozart y Mambo project by Berlin Philharmonic member Sarah Willis, explores the fascinating Cuban dance rhythms in a completely new way by incorporating the French horn, which is not present in traditional Cuban music. Together with a group of Cuba's most talented musicians, the star horn player creates a completely new sound with exclusive arrangements of some of the best-known Cuban songs and original compositions by the band members – fresh, innovative, and irresistible!

A magnificent success story continues here – because "Mozart y Mambo" can do even more! This evening, Sarah Willis and the Havana Lyceum Orchestra present a unique blend of works by Mozart, Bizet's "Carmen," and Cuban compositions. Their approach to the works of European classical music: not overly intellectual and analytical, but fresh, passionate, and from the gut. Sarah Willis likes to say: "This is one of my favorite orchestras in the world." The celebrated horn player and the Cubans have since grown together into an artistic family and have already brought several of their own programs to the Rheingau Music Festival. Always with classical music, but always with a touch of Cuba in their luggage: With beguiling rhythms, the music in these concerts starts dancing and sweeps the audience along!
