The musicians of Symphonic Band welcome guests for the annual High School Honor Band Weekend with a performance that includes compositions by Dmitri Kabalevsky, Michael Daugherty, Viet Cuong, Dan Forrest, and Percy Grainger. This program will be performed again on January 30 at the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

Symphonic Band opens High School Honor Band Weekend

This performance by the Ohio State Symphonic Band is a partnership with the exhibition “Facing Feelings: The Art of Raina Telgemeier” currently hosted at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum. This concert explores the strong connection between listening and feeling as well as the influence of visual elements on emotional engagement. Audience will hear an “improvisational duet” between artwork of Raina Telgemeier and individual musicians from the Symphonic Band.

Symphonic Band presents "Feeling Heard"

The musicians of Symphonic Band present a program largely influenced by American composer Steven Danyew. This program features Danyew’s Magnolia Star, Six Little Songs featuring soprano soloist Xio Liu (DMA graduate student), and Lauda, in addition to Vincent Persichetti’s Symphony No. 6.

Symphonic Band

The musicians of Symphonic Band present a program of music created and inspired by France. Compositions by Jacques Casterede, Charles Simon-Catel, Lili Boulanger, Claude Debussy, Harrison Collins, Martin Ellerby, and Jacques Offenbach will be shared.
