Pianist

Together with his sister Maria Anna, known as Nannerl, who was also a gifted pianist, Mozart played his Concerto for Two Pianos, composed in Salzburg in 1779. It represents an important stage in his development of the piano concerto, the genre in which he was particularly successful during his years in Vienna, from 1781 onwards. The high point and conclusion of this phase is the Piano Concerto in C minor, composed in 1786. Of all Mozart's piano concertos, this one most clearly shows him to be a pioneer of Romanticism.

The unique Orangery in the Rose Garden of Groß Siemen provides an outstanding backdrop for the rising stars of the "Young Elite." Here, the up-and-coming Hungarian pianist Mihály Berecz will showcase his talent to the audience in a solo recital. In addition to works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven, a Hungarian composer is also included in the program: Béla Bartók, with his Three Etudes, Op. 18, intended to make a specific contribution to contemporary music. The result is a cycle that places the highest demands on the pianist's technical and interpretive skills.
