Osvaldo Golijov’s Last Round pulses with tango-inspired intensity, weaving raw emotion, rhythmic drive, and moments of haunting stillness into a gripping contemporary lament. Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet in E flat Major, composed when the composer was just sixteen, follows as a dazzling celebration of youthful genius—brimming with lyrical beauty, precision, and exuberant energy. Violinist Siwoo Kim is a captivating young artist on the musical scene, known for his stylistic sensitivity and incisive playing. He has received critical international acclaim for his performances, including the world premiere of Samuel Adler's violin concerto, recorded on Linn Records. Siwoo's recent credits include Carnegie Hall and concerts with renowned artists worldwide. The New York Times Kim’s playing “incisive” and “compelling” while Chicago Tribune’s John von Rhein said Kim plays with “stylistic sensitivity and generous tonal nuance.”
