Set against the dazzling backdrop of 19th-century Paris, "La traviata" tells the poignant story of Violetta Valéry, a courtesan who finds true love with the young nobleman Alfredo Germont. Their passionate affair faces challenges from societal conventions and family interference, leading to a heartbreaking choice.

Join us for an unforgettable performance featuring a cast of internationally acclaimed artists. Tenor Zach Borichevsky will make his San Diego Opera debut as Alfredo, bringing his talents to the stage alongside soprano Andriana Chuchman, who returns as Violetta after her acclaimed debut with the company. They will be joined by bass-baritone Hunter Enoch and soprano Erika Nicole Alatorre, both making their company debuts. Under the baton of San Diego Opera’s Principal Conductor Yves Abel, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra will provide the stirring score that has captivated audiences for generations.
