Two sets of music in the course of one evening. First, Princeton University composition alumnus and current lecturer Tom Morrison presents a new work ‘Train Dreams.’ Then, PSK’s first Mixtape concert for the academic year, in which various artists and ensembles perform new works by Princeton University graduate student composers. This Mixtape will feature new works by Francisco del Pino and Nina Shekhar.

Lush and luminous as the title implies, gifted newcomer Nicolas Chuaqui’s confident work opens the season before Mozart’s astonishing concerto takes center stage. Sounding far more like a late-period masterpiece than the youthful work it is, this mysteriously obscure piano showpiece was once (and rightly!) described by Alfred Brendel as “among the greatest wonders of the world.” Arthur Honegger’s irresistible musical travelogue enjoys a welcome reprise as a past Riverside favorite.
