Works by Guillaume Dufay, Michael Praetorius, Giovanni Gabrieli and others. Central Germany was in a state of upheaval around 1500: in addition to society, politics and the economy, painting, sculpture and architecture were also changing. In this exciting time before the Reformation and the Peasants' War, a new style emerged: the Early Renaissance.

Art Museum Moritzburg Halle

Im Mittelpunkt des Konzerts steht das auf dem Marktplatz zu Halle stehende Händel-Denkmal. Finanziert durch großzügige Spenden und Benefiz-Konzerte wurde es zum 100. Todestag des Komponisten im Jahr 1859 eingeweiht. Selbst die international gefeierte Sopranistin Jenny Lind ließ es sich nicht nehmen und reiste nach Halle, um in einer Messiah-Aufführung zu Gunsten des Denkmals mitzuwirken.
