Musicians from the Aachen Symphony Orchestra present true musical matters of the heart in different ensembles in the 1st Chamber Concert: Mozart's virtuoso string duo KV 423 was written as a friendly act for the ill Michael Haydn. And Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's string quartet op. 13 is even a double matter of the heart: a homage to Ludwig van Beethoven and a secret message of love. The program also includes two works for the unusual combination of clarinet and soprano by Louis Spohr and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
