The Junge Staatsphilharmonie is the youth orchestra of the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Under the direction of first Kapellmeister Jan Croonenbroeck, the young musicians perform works such as the 1st Symphony by the Afro-American composer Florence Price in the opera house.

In the concert series "Dreiklang" ("Triad"), the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg is leaving its usual concert halls to discover exciting venues in Nuremberg. Music from various centuries, programmes based on the location, and space-consuming sonic concepts lead to new (aural) impressions and promise an intense musical examination of the venues. Music for a piano trio, consisting of violin, cello and piano, has been one of the staples of chamber music since Haydn. The programme includes Haydn’s and Brahm’s well known trios as well as a piece by Turina. This composer combines Romantic abundance and Impressionist sounds with Spanish folklore.

Modest Mussorgsky's classic "Pictures at an Exhibition" (arranged by Christian Reuter) tells many little stories with its music: about newly hatched chicks, about an old castle, about children playing in the park and much more. Theater educator Philipp Roosz has the right pictures to go with these stories.

A myth that is unparalleled: the legend of the singer Orpheus, whose music reaches the hearts of all living creatures, overshadows the man behind the fictional character. Caught between reality and dream, the spotlight and loneliness, longing for love and narcissism, we follow Orpheus on his journey into the underworld as he demands his beloved Eurydice back.
