His beautiful melody "Good evening, good night" still accompanies many children into dreamland today, and his "Hungarian Dances" are world famous. It is hard to believe that the great composer Johannes Brahms had doubts and was not always sure whether he was doing everything right. But the story of the creation of his 1st Symphony in C minor, which the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra plays under the direction of Sebastian Ludwig, shows that it is worth not giving up and trying again and again until you finally succeed. But who was this Johannes Brahms, who was already a star during his lifetime and yet needed more than 20 (!) years to write his first symphony? And who sometimes preferred to be "free but lonely" and listened to a "giant" marching behind him for a long time? The audience learns all this from actor Kai Bettermann, who tells us the story of one of the great masterpieces of music.
