It is hard to believe that the great composer Johannes Brahms had doubts and was not always sure whether he was doing everything right. But the story of the creation of his 1st Symphony in C minor, which the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra plays under the direction of Sebastian Ludwig, shows that it is worth not giving up and trying again and again until you finally succeed. But who was this Johannes Brahms, who was already a star during his lifetime and yet needed more than 20 (!) years to write his first symphony?
