All folk music is beautiful, but I have to say that Jewish music is unique! It is so multifaceted, can appear cheerful and in reality be deeply tragic. It is almost always laughter through tears.

From ecstatic dance to yearning melancholy to exuberant joie de vivre: Klezmer music, an instrumental festival music, originates in the "shtetls" of the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe and captivates with its immense emotional range. Originally played to accompany Jewish festivals, klezmer will be performed in this evening concert by solo clarinetist Filip Brezovšek and the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert setting.
