Voices that fill a church, tearing people away from their everyday worries and connecting them with God and their faith: In the 18th century, this happened not only on holidays, but also on normal weekdays. At the archbishop's court in Bonn, they did not employ a choir for everyday services, but rather a vocal quartet, which offered solo performances of the four-part compositions by Bonn's court composers and colleagues from abroad to the Prince-Bishop and his entourage. We will revive this period of Bonn's history in the first concert in our Court Orchestra series , when for the first time in the series we travel not to the time of Ludwig van Beethoven as a teenager, but to that of his grandfather Louis van Beethoven.
