Angelina dreams of a better life. Since her mother's death, she has been treated condescendingly by her stepfather Don Magnifico and his daughters Clorinda and Tisbe. Under no circumstances is she, Cinderella, allowed to go to the prince's party, who is looking for a bride and for whose attention Clorinda and Tisbe are vying. Angelina doesn't want to see the prince there, but rather his servant, with whom she has fallen head over heels in love. What she doesn't realize is that the servant is actually the prince himself. In order to find a woman who will love him for himself, he has swapped roles with his servant. But before Angelina can be happy with her prince, many a trick and disguise is necessary. Fortunately, the wise philosopher Alidoro is on her side to help her.

With Alma, he has created a seemingly perfect new companion, whose memory he erases every night. Inspired by his friendship with a child, however, she develops her own desires and demands her right to self-determination. A dangerous game of life and death erupts between human and android.
