Grupo Frontera comenzó como un pasatiempo entre un grupo de amigos del Valle de Texas, Estados Unidos, con raíces mexicanas de Nuevo León y Tamaulipas. A principios de 2022, el grupo decidió emprender su aventura musical y comenzó a subir videos de sus covers a la plataforma YouTube.
