In order to get to know the sound down to its most mysterious ramifications, Kaija Saariaho simply put it "under the microscope". In 2023, the great Finnish composer died in her adopted home of Paris. Together with violinist Carolin Widmann, the SWR Symphony Orchestra remembers this magician of intermediate and microtones.
